The full cheek length gives very clear direct rein aid and helps prevent the bit from sliding in horse's mouth, rider has a bit more leverage without the bit pulling through the horse’s mouth.
The benefits for using a bean shaped link bit is it takes the pressure of the horse’s tongue.
The straight bars of the Full Cheek provide a slight lateral guiding effect. This is because the opposite bit ring creates a push in the direction of the activated rein i.e. for example, if the left rein is pulled the right Bar will create a push in left direction, pushing the sides of the Cheek against the horse's mouth, thus encouraging a smooth turn.
Sweet Iron
Sweet Iron Mouth is designed to rust over time which encourages saliva production and creates a sweeter taste that increases acceptance of the bit by horse. Once the bit comes in contact with horse's mouth oxidation takes place. With passage of time, the bit begins to look rusty. The rust is not harmful to the horse.
